REV. WILLIAM HARRISON

From the Pastor’s Desk:

Greetings:

Grace be unto you, and peace from God our Father, and from the Lord Jesus Christ. I greet you with Jesus joy which is the only joy that will last forever. As I look back over the past five years, including the eight months I served as “Interim Pastor”,  I can say that GOD has truly brought his church and us, members of the body of Christ,  from a mighty long ways.

The Apostle Paul says, His “Grace” is sufficient for us. Grace is the unmerited favor of God. He has blessed us to accomplish the following: renovated the Fellowship Hall and Kitchen, erected a handicap ramp, purchased new inner sanctuary doors, re-organized various ministries and auxiliaries, been blessed with a membership increase, etc. Currently, we have embarked upon a fundraiser for new carpet in the sanctuary.

We’re being blessed Second Union because we are obedient to the Lord’s Holy words. Numbers 23:8 how shall I curse, whom God hath not cursed? Or how shall I defy, whom the Lord hath not defied? God has done a new thing.

So, I have adopted a new theme for the church which is found in Isaiah 43:19 - “ Behold, I will do a new thing; now it shall spring forth; shall ye not know it? I will even make a way in the wilderness, and rivers in the desert.” This Church, as of last February is 60 years old and has become a Beacon for God in the city. The Bible tells us: Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven. We are a praying church and congregation. Let us continue to be obedient to God through prayer and supplication.

For in him we live, and move, and have our being; as certain also of your own poets have said, for we are also his offspring. Therefore, let us always look unto the hills from whence cometh our help. Our help cometh from the Lord who is the maker of heaven and earth.

Brothers and sisters let us continue to trust in the true and living God who will bless us richly for being obedient. As this year of 2011 A.D. is drawing to a close, let us forever be reminded that “We walk by Faith and not by sight.” Time is filled with swift transition; naught of earth unmoved can stand. Build your hopes on things eternal. Hold to God’s unchanging hands.

We must work while it is day because the night cometh when no man can work. Always, remember to “Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths. May He doeth all things well continue to bestow his richest blessings upon you, your families and love ones.

Finally, “Beloved” in closing, may the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob dwell in and delight to enrich you greatly, until Jesus, the Christ returns. Now may the Love of God the Father and Jesus Christ the Son, and the Sweet Communion of the Holy spirit, rest, rule and abide in us, henceforth, now and forever more.

Yours because of Calvary,
